Hey, Letmegrow or Trot help please

I went to GW to day and came home with a Clam about 5 1/2 long which looks very nice indeed and then a sponge. I know, I should have double checked first but I got a lil excited. I think this should be a Tree Sponge of the speceis grouped as Demosponges which are characterized by spicules made of silicon dioxide or silica and not the Calcareous Sponges which have a body of spongy fibers supported by spicules made of calcium carbonate.

However I failed to ask what it was. So now I'm in a state of what do I do?? Some sponges need/accept bright light and others melt away from brite light. Which did I pick up from GW?? Is it in fact a Amphimedon spp., Aplysina spp., Ptilocaulis spp. better know as the common Tree sponge, Or is it from another group like Clathria spp. commonly called Orange tree sponge or paddle sponge?? I've currently placed this sponge in my sump which receive's little to hardly no light at all until I find out which group this is in and what it is.

Sometimes Stupid is as Stupid does, and buying something without asking what it was, Was plain out Stupid.

They are caribbean sponges, prefer lower lighting, so they do not grow algae which and grow on them and kill them,due to know way to filter feed. DO NOT let them touch the air , always bag under water when moving them . As far as a technical name ?? No idea, they just list them as tree spong,ball spong,etc. If it looks like a tree with branches or if it is smother and round .

Thats cool, yea I found out about the no touching air ( A little to late though). Thanks Chad beings its from the Caribbean area I'm going to take it to be the Tree sponge I thought it was. Due to the Calcareous sponges are found in all sea but relatively fewer in the Caribbean than anywhere else.

I belive I was able to pop most of the tiny air bubbles that I found on it after I researched what I belived it to be. Thanks again Chad.
