ouch!

i've heard this alot lately with BB's

with only 4 hours do your other corals get enough light too?

what do you mean by " 4 hours a day under the center brace"?

My tank has a 1" thick 3" wide center brace in the middle. Right over that coral. ;) The acros did seem to color up a little better with the 5 hour period, so I may get some tinted plexi for over the big monti and bump it back to 5 hours. But to tell you the thruth I am no sure if it was just me or not. A couple acros are really growing like weeds!

I think mine has a high bioload.
90 gallon with the following fish:
1 - 3" Purple Tang
1 - 3" Powder Blue Tang
3 - 3" Squamipinnis anthias
1 - 2" Sixline wrasse
2 - 4" Scissortail gobies

I feed twice a day.

Funny I've been looking at the reeflux bulbs but I have mag ballasts and the par aint so hot. As far as your monti I would move it down for a while, or start with your lights a little higher. If the corals start to brown you can alway increase intensity, but its better than bleaching or worse STN. Small changes in lighting can have big effects!

Very nice I love to see hi bio load tanks with alot of color!

clown goby
watchman goby

royal gramma
4 anthias squamapinnis
blue throat trigger

achilles tang
neon goby

120gal

1x 6" hippo tang
1x 5" foxface
1x 4" kole tang
1x flasher wrasse
1x 3" orange anthais
2x 3" chalk bass
2x red cardinals
9x 1 1/2" green chromis

All the fish get along, as long as you have a HUGE skimmer to handle the bioload I don't see a problem. Actually the increased feeding has improved my colors much more since I used to starve the tank and get the faded look.

Scarab I still think you should be TOTM....your tank rocks!

Kevin your tank looks great also. You need to get a high res pic so we can see it better.

I have a 150gallon BB SPS tank and here is my fish list
5- Alleni damsels
3- Chalk basslets
1- latern basslets
1- 5" harlequin tusk
1- 3" niger trigger
1- 5" purple tang
1- lawnmower blenny
1- 5" pink margin wrasse
1- 3" candy cane hog
2- cardinals
1- 5" rabbit fish
1- 3" female bellus angel
1- 4" female watanabei angel

That's it.....I'm putting more fish in my tank!

My old 65gal used to look just like the pics in your gallery. If you have a good skimmer don't be afraid to feed the fish often either :) You'll see a big improvement in your colors.

Couple of questions for your high fishload type gurus.
1) How do you control phosphates?
2) How often do you feed?

I feed 2 times daily most of the time, Flakes, pellets, and frozen

This thing controls the phosphate
