Well have one in week 5 of qt and wondering who has one in their reef tank and has it ever eaten zoas/lps? Will be impossible to catch after adding in my 300.. Have read a few post saying they eat zoas.. One I have now came from a tank that had zoas lps and sps and never touched any of them he was raised from 1 inch in that tank to 4 plus now

I have both a Hippo and a Regal and they don't touch LPS, I don't have Zoas so I can't comment on them. Tangs are supposed to be Reef Safe and Regals in general are good too but you can have exceptions to the rule.

There have been several people locally that have had trouble lately. Personally I wouldn't chance it, which is why I've never had one in my tanks.

My hippo never eats anything but fish food and algae off the rocks. I have lots of zoas and LPS and he hasn't touched them.

Also, a healthy tang that eats well should be easy to remove with a fish trap if the time comes. I recently removed a yellow tang via a fish trap in about 5 minutes...

Good luck!

I have had 3 over the last 10 years or so and not one showed interest in zoas. Current one is going on 5 years.

I keep mine well fed he's just an a**hole he asserts his dominance by nipping at my Sps tips and picking up my frags on my rack throwing behind my rock work this is the first one I've experienced this sort of behavior with a blue tang. I was hoping my tomini would put him in his place but that's failed. It's a little under two years since I got him definitely not the end of the world just annoying.

Should have gotten a purple tang I like them a lot more I don't kjow what I was thinking.

I had a blue tang which was a model citizen for a while until one day I actually saw him tearing open a zoa. I summed it up to every fish has a different personality and some are likely to change for whatever reason. I took him out soon after.
