I just got my Hippo tang (3.5") yesterday.I dripped acclimatised it for about 1 hr.It started eating algae off the glass pane but it's hanging out all day in the same corner going up and down .I can't see any ich but I saw it a few times dive sideways in the rocks.
Can anyone tell me what's going on with it?
Thank you

He's in qt, I hope?
It can take up to 2 weeks for the visible white spots of ich to develop. Erratic swimming and frequent flashing can be signs of parasites but can also be signs of poor water quality...Tangs are usually the first fish in tank to let you know theres a problem..

Keep an eye on him for now, maybe do a water change..If he takes a turn for the worse, qt and treat him and all other fish..

Ich is very common, but fish can also carry Flukes. Flukes is a little harder to diagnose as some are clear and invisible to the naked eye..Velvet is another parasite and far more deadly than ich or flukes..Velvet starts in the gills , often by the time you see the dusting of spots, its to late to treat...This is why I qt..

Watch your fish!!
