hippopus in trouble

i've had a hippopus clam in my tank now for about 6 months. i got him at 2" and now it's close to 4". however recently i added a copperband butterfly that like to pick on both of my clams. the picking lasted for about 1 week before i figured out why my clams looked so crappy. the cb is now out of the tank for almost 2 weeks now. the clam is definitely gaping. the incurrent siphon is wide open and the edges of the mantle are not reaching the edge of the shell. this has been going on for about 3 days now. does anyone know of anything that i can do to save him, as he was my first clam and i'm kinda attached to it.

tank:
400W XM 20k w/ 2x30W actinics
pH 8.1
calcium 410
alk 3
ammonia nitrites 0
nirates >5

Hey quantim0,

You water quality seems great. Do you test your phosphates? Have you done any water changes lately? If not, maybe one wouldn't hurt? How much phytoplankton do you feed? Is it possible you aren't feeding enough?

i have to do my monthly water change tomorrow, but maybe i'll step it up today. phosphates are around .25 and i am in the process of lowering them. i feed phyto every 2-3 days for my acros. so i'm pretty much stumped.
