HOB Filter died. What should I get next?

In my 20g long I've been using an Aquatech filter and also added a little panty hose with AC inside cause it was free. Anyways I unplugged it to feed coral frenzy and it wont power on. So now im trying to decide on another HOB filter, skimmer or other options I dont know about. Give me your suggestions.

I had my eye on a Hydor Slim skim nano but just can't pull the trigger since every nano skimmer I read about has issues and aren't really needed in a nano with regular water changes.

I'd suggest a medium or large Fluval hob filter.

Try placing the filter pump in the water and stick something up the propellers. That should start up the pump again

I run a slim skim nano on my 20H and an aquaclear 50 (thats been modified into a hob refugium) the slim skim nano does pull some nasty crud out of the water, but i still do my weekly water changes. however I dont think that the 20L is tall enough to fit the slim skim nano unless you are BB.

If I keep plugging it in eventually it turns on. I finally got it started again but have a feeling it will die out on me sooner than later.

When is the last time you pulled the impeller out and cleaned the motor? I've had that cause startup issues before. The most recent event was last week.

Never, I didn't know it comes out or how to clean it.

i use regular old aqeoun filters on my tanks well nano at least.
