hob on rimless

Can I hang an aero force 2 made by CPR on the back of my 60 cube rimless. Wife came home with a new tank, and I'm trying to use equipment I already own.

Why would you want to put anything hanging on a rimless tank?
won't you have a sump? The beauty of rimless is to have clean uncluttered lines IMO.....

I agree but I dont want to buy a skimmer right now.

you can put the hob in the sump, if you have room. or i even had it hob on my sump, if you have a sump.

I have it modified to work in the sump. Issues is water from the skimmer flows into sump with 5" drop. This is causing water to splatter. Also increasesnoise

i ran a cpr in my sump until i got a great deal on a cone octopus skimmer. until then try raising the water level to minimize splashing and still hold water when your return is off. I dont want to sound like a know it all but these are all obvious solutions to me.

Back to my original question can a rimless handle the extra weight of a hob skimmer.

how thick is the glass/acrylic?

i would say it would be ok. the pressure should be pushing down not way from the tank. just adjust the hob to be square, there should be a screw to put the skimmer body parallel to the tank.
