I have been raising fish and corals for many years. I also have received more help and expert advise from fellow members than all the books I have read. One complaint - I have experienced, on several occasions, a fellow hobbyist will tell you they will be over your house to purchase something you are selling at certain time and never come. Also, someone agrees to sell you something and when you try to set up a time and location, they never return your correspondence. I get that someone has placed a better bid, but at least let the other person know that your not interested. I have also heard other members complain of the same problem. Nothing wrong with letting someone know that the item was sold or they no longer want to purchase what you are selling. Common courtesy.

Amen, has happened to me on several occasions. What happened to peoples word? I understand things get complicated and things come up, but at least have the decency to call, be honest, be upfront. I think its too easy to blow people off when you haven't met face to face, or only know each other on the internet and via text.

This usually happens from someone that is wanting to purchase something but doesn't actually have the money .....thats why I usually get a deposit up front unless I know the person and even then it can be an issue ....I have had this happen even from people that were considered friends that asked me to hold something till they got the money only for them to just purchase something else and leave you hanging after a month of holding it and then not even think it was a problem (oh sorry someone else got me one or I found a better deal) bs if you ask me with no pride or honor

Unfortunately, there are a few, maybe more than a few, bad apples out there. Shoot, I feel bad if I'm 10 minutes late, LOL! Nothing like rearranging your day to accommodate some one that never shows up. Can't stand that! Oooo, you got me going now:uzi:

Wasn't talking about you, numbnutz! Geesh, you're so sensitive. Most of the regulars here are very nice. It's the people that come out of nowhere you gotta watch out for. I don't consider waiting 2 days to reply to a text too rude:rolleyes:

Why cant i see these videos you numnutz put up?

BTW- ive dealt with this too, for years. The best way to deal with it IMHO is make it convenient for YOU, forget what they want. If they really want it, they will come.

I have had this happen also. The worst was when I was selling the 300 gal. This guy from Miami wanted to come by and look at it. We set up a time. He texted saying he was going to be 45 minutes late. Ok I can wait. Texted later saying he was about 15 - 20 minutes away. Waited about 40 minutes and then texted him to see if he got lost. Said a friend from up here called him so he decided to go over there and never bothered to let me know.

I know that I have told people I would buy something and then changed my mind. I would go and buy it anyway because I said I would and it's not their fault I changed my mind. I also feel guilty if I don't buy it.

I once gave a down payment for a used tank to be picked up after the seller got rid of the live stock etc... gave the guy a couple of month to sell live stock. to make the story short, he never called me to notify the tank was ready and he sold the tank to someone else. it took a couple of months to get my down payment money back.
