Hole in my maxi mini

I bought this rainbow from Bob about 5 months ago. I just noticed a large hole at his mouth. Someone tell me he is splitting please and this isn't a problem. He's always been fully inflated, great colors, moves around when I'm feeding or anything goes near him (although he doesn't leave his shell) He's about 5" in diameter when fully inflated..not so mini.

I've got a mini maxi that look very much like yours. I got it from Bob six months or so ago. It too gets a very large mouth from time to time. Not sure why, but it is always normal in a day or two.

BTW - the other one I got from Bob at the same time looks different and it never has the problem.

So my point is, since ours are so similar, from Bob - likely taken from the same spot - the probably have similar behaviors. Mine's been doing this for a while and recovers. I bet yours will too.
