wom is an acronym that stands for "word of mouth." it is a gimic designed to get you to become a returning customer to petmart. you receive a 20-40% discount when you spend 50 dollars on items that are marked up 20-40%. then you get to earn points, except when petmart runs another scam like "no wom points earned." bear in mind no other store in the state must rely on such an "incentive" to customers to maintain a customer base. most others rely on simple trends of supply and demand, customer service, quality products, etc.
for eveyone else that is sick of all the ads why don't we at least not respond so the thread makes its way out of our faces ?

Wom is a great program and even without the WOM Pet Mart has great prices. All other fish stores are wonderful in ther own way as well.

Why is it that when any other store has some nice stuff come in no one bashes them because they are jealous? Why does everyone pick on pet mart? People get treated like crap, yeah right. Very funny. Fish dieing? Very funny? All my stuff comes from Pet Mart and I have had no problems. I don't even run a wet-dry. Maybe you all just need some practice on everything and practice on bashing other stores. Let them do what they do and try to get other people in the hobby or sell tanks to people that are already in the hobby.

I remember you defending this store in this post. I am just wondering because you,srt4 and fish4red all signed up at the same time and came out defending pet-mart right off the bat.
I usually try to stay out of this drama but it is starting to really bug me the constant nonsense that shows up on the boards.
As far as bashing stores you should look way back when FAOIS was getting slammed left and right along with CO/Finz but they stayed consistent and held themselves to a high standard (after CO changed owners and name to Finz)and THAT is the reason people will defend them, not because they are on the payroll!
Why dont we do what the Mods asked us and try not to bring this stuff up anymore. At least for a week!

na he said I erased a price off the glass in one of his tanks. I was like yeah right then he said he had it on tape. I said let me see it he said oh we taped over it. I would keep it myself just incase but hey he isn't me. there was a rose anemone which I had 2 of at the time that were nice and his was ok looking but the tank said something like $35 bubble tip anemone. there were other bubble tips of course so I asked how much for that bubble tip and the guy said over $100 and I said oh nevermind or whatever . I was going to take it for the lower price but if it was higher I plain didn't want it. no problem and with the knowledge of the workers at that time who knows they may have said well it says the cheaper price so here you go. not my fault who he had working for him so this ummmm taliban guy made up the story. well taliban was the nick name some people gave him not me. thats the only name I know him by. if anyone wants to clear the name thing up thats cool feel free. he was always cool until then.

These threads crack me up.
As an experiment, I did recently purchase a fish at PetMart just to see if it really was all you defenders claim. I'm willing to give a place a 2nd chance. Let's just say the experiment failed and I'm reasonably confident it had nothing to do with my setup (other than jumpers I have lost very, very few fish) and a lot more to do with the fact that the fish was poorly cared for at the store and sold to me knowing it was doomed. Anyone who wants the specifics on my experience and experiment is free to PM me for details.
