Yep - that is an Octo BH 300F on the 75g for sure! Great little skimmer.
Here are some of the tank occupants, waiting for the 250 to be ready for them.
Very nice tank. I always loved the naturalness of fresh water tanks. Yours is very nice. My wife wishes my 90g was gone. I tend to go overboard on things. I can't even comprehend the amount of time effort and money behind all these big multiple systems. I keep showing my wife that my obsession is minor compared to all you sickos!
You sir do incredible work! So, with the one fish going over the overflow has it becoe a concern or you are not worried about it? If it is a concern, how might you correct it? Thanks.
Powerman - yep - you can always point to any one of the thousands here on RC if you need a scapegoat!
MMERITT- Thanks! The one fish than went over the overflow was a fluke - I think. There are 2 weir walls in the beginning of the sump that any fish has to swim under then over beforegetting into any danger.
But one could simply install a toothed weir on the overflow if that was a real concern I suppose. Or a slotted piece of black plexiglass could be installed in the same way.
The down side to that - is you would not get as thorough surface skimming, you would decrease the g.p.h. that could be easily handled by the overflow, and the overflow would like be noiser. It is practically silent as is, and - I am going to run it this way for a while before I attempt any modification.
I did a piece of glass to the far right end of the overflow - it was my oversight, not Prefecto on that. it was just a 2'' strip that finished the euro-bracing all around the tank. It did not add to the strngth in this case - it just adds tot eh the maximum height of water in the tank before water is going onto the floor
