Thanks for the light pics.. Lots of ideas to use here.LOL What is your watts total. Have 300DD tank and trying to plan... Thanks if i missed it?

T, the tank is looking sooo sweet! :inlove:
You've hidden all the CL returns very well, and the side overflow is barely noticeable up against the corner wall like that.

Shiner and Texas BBQ - does it get any better than that?

Any idea how much volume you're pushing through the drains?

Man..."It is so cruel to make a fat man drool!".....The memory of Shiner and BBQ - Man! Well - one day I am just gonna dissapear on a little road trip back to Texas and "git me sum"!
Thanks for noticing the camoflauge work Mike! I wish that the returns on the back of th tank were black - and I may take them out and paint them too

I am using a Hammerhead on the closed loop, and I think it is about 3000 gph net. (After all the plumbing.)
On the overflow - the return pump for that is a Barracuda, and less feet of head loss. Approx. 3500 gph. is going theu the overflow. It can handle at leas twice that amount - but my wallet can't handle running a pump that would push 6000-7000gph net (that would take a 10,000 gph flow biased pump like a bigger Reeflo type .....

You from Texas?

Aww tee, with all the money you have invested in that tank, what's a few hundred more? How are the mp 40's working for you? Are you making waves yet?

Hey Jon!

Well I have been playing with the MP-40s...Not sure where to best locate them. I know I would rather put them down low in the back of the tank out of sight - but until I have the light winch (no- not my "wench" - she will not help lift the lights :spin1: )hooked up it is hard to get to that area.

But I am impressed with what they do!

Great tank and amazing setup! I'll be following this one for sure.

Any chance you could draw in where the returns are under the rock? You've hid them so well. Do they support any of the LR?

Thank you!
I will take some pictures and post them later today showing some of the returns which are hidden by the rock.

8 are the closed loop returns, so there is no danger of water loss during a "power - off" situation. The other 2 are the 2-2'' drains on the far right ( in front of the overflow wall) which I am working on hiding better......

None of the returns support any of the rock work, I did not want to add additional stress to the plumbing or the holes in the tank.
The Drains do have some rocks slightly leaning aginst them, but as little as possible.

Looking good T. Can't wait to see it in the flesh. What area of that frag tank is mine?
BTW When are you going to add an avatar and title -- shame to waste that space and Registered Member is a little boring.

With 7,000 gallon of flow you probably wouldn't have any build up on the sand, wait you probably wouldn't have any sand then either... Looking great

Sorry - I should clarify......
I TESTED the overflow at approx 7000 gph - prior to placing sand in the tank.
But if you notice in the pictures, the returns are high in the back of the tank. And with the fittings from Oceans Motions, you can aim the flow any direction you want.

So, I currnetly have 2- Vortechs I am playing with on the tank - at full blast, and the Barracuda which is a return pump. No sand blowing around with all that flow....Just depends on howthe flow is dispersed I suppose.

OOOPS!
You are right - I goofed and forgot to post some didn't I !
I will get the camera out, take some and post them first thing in the morning!
Hang in there- they are coming.....
