Well folks, its been a while since I have posted any pictures of my tank. It has come a long way in the past year. I still have quite a few corals that are in the frag stage and many more to come. Anyway here it is as it looked tonight!

Its a monticolusa. Its a wild colony that I bought from our LFS. It looks like it is going to be purplish in color. It was pretty brown when I got it. Its a very slow grower and no I havent really seen it do much.

that is looking really bad.

you should probably send me some frags to see if I can get them looking the way they are supposed to.:p

looking good man!

Looking great but your lighting too blue...IMO.
That Monticolusa is not an easy specie, maybe your zeovit system can turn it around. Good luck.. :eek2:

I happen to love the color :). It is about the color of a 20k lamp when the actinics are on. It doesnt look quite that blue in person either I dont think, but the picture is pretty close.

My camera actually does pretty well in Auto White Balance mode with this combo of lights. I have had other combos where the pictures looked pink no matter what I did.

Perhaps your right :). When I first dropped it in the tank, it started to get some TN and I actully lost 2 "cones" before the TN stopped. However, ever since (ive had it about 3 months) it has slowly started to turn purple from its brown that it was before. I think it will do just fine...

Looking good....cant wait to post my 1 year pics...well that will be 10 months from now so uhhh your gonna have to wait...

nice work horace...i take it your liking the switch from the T5's...and i like the blue hue!!!!!!!!!!!!wanna get back into why the corals were lightening under your T5's(cuz you didn thave the blue!!) nevermind i wont get you started...oh zeovit sucks!!! J/k not gonna get you riled up

Actually no, I didnt clean the tank...I did clean the glass though.

The MJ mod works great...It moves more water than the Seio 820 on the other side for sure!

As far as lightening of corals. Now I am not 100% what was causing that. I have had the MH on there for about 2+ months I think and my colors really have not changed a whole lot really. I think the colors was more a result of low bio-load and not feeding the tank enough. In the past week I have more than doubled my feeding to the tank in hopes that it will start to darken the tissue of the corals.

Your welcome to say that Zeovit sucks :)... I would tend to disagree :P

pair your clown!!!!!!!! food for corals!!!!!!

She did have a male friend...2 male friends for that matter. Both jumped out of the tank. She must be a real bittch lol!

I plan on getting another tang I think... Probably a powder brown or something. Something that will add a fair amount of bio-load to the tank. I was also considering a large school of green chromis... like 8 - 10 of them.

Right now there is the following fish:

Engineer Goby
Yellow Tang
False Percula Clown
Coral Beauty
Royal Gramma
Six Line Wrasse

Other than the big yellow tang... all the others have a pretty small bio-load.

Looking great Kurt - some nice colors there. Have you gone all T5 yet?

Cheers

SImon

Been there, done that. I will never go back to flourescents again. I dont care if MH is hotter, uses more power etc. I love the look of MH and that is more important than anything to me :). Plus I know MH works and works well.

horace,

how are your corals looking after the switch from T5 to MH?

are they getting better coloration? I don't particularly care for my T5's and I am going MH/T5 as soon as I can.
