How are sps colors with po4 readings .15 to .30?

Well I run by po4 at .00 Hanna since tank stated a year ago. Had an issue with my reactor and I didn't catch it fast. Po4 is .04 as of yesterday and I am noticing a few out of 90 different sps coral r starting to loose amazing color and browning out. I will stick with my low po4 and just feed the sps. That's just me.

With the range of error, that .04 could be .08 which would be enough to give more brown to the corals. It is a wonderful little tool, I use the same one but as with any hobby instrument, it isn't precise enough but still more accurate than a titration test. Your eyes and experience told you more accurately than the test.

I do know about the error range. I ran the test 3 times. Got .04,.02.00

So I don't think it is .08 I run it multiple times every time I check it because of error rang. I always take the highest value of the 3:)

I agree that bio pellets or carbon dosing in generally can really produce some starved corals. I would just call it a overdose as is often mentioned in zeovit forms. As I mentioned earlier the phosphate should be below .04 and nitrate almost zero. That is the most successful area to have a reef tank.

I also firmly believe that your acros as you mentioned need a steady stream of food/ nutrients, more than many reefers think.

A really good routine to do is to feed something like reef roids every night a hour after the lights have gone out. The acros will get accustomed to eating and thrive and growth will dramatically increase. The secret is to feed a bunch and still keep nutrients low.

Kalk will also help as well as aminos.
