How do I build? Please

OK...I have a 90 Gallon with a corner flow that drains into my 30 gallon sump. I currently have a small section of the sump as a refugium. I woul like to build an external refugium out of a 10 gallon tank. I dont thing enough water drains to split it to the fuge and the sump. So my question is how do I get the water to and from the refugium? and does it come from the DS tank or the sump? Do I need 2 pumps and how much flow needs to go through the refugium?

Thank you ALL very much!

the overflow has a rating of gph. a starting point would be to find out the flow rating for your overflow. what kind of tank is it? is it a hanh on overflow?

you can tee off your drainline from your sump to the fuge and put a valve on the line to the fuge, so you can regulate the flow. then just plumb an 'overflow' from the fuge to the sump kinda like what capn_hylinur did

**EDIT** if you look, he has one pipe going to the left to the fuge, one going right to the sump (on the wall), then he has the tubing going from the fuge to the sump, and then exiting the sump to the return pump, back to the display

If you want to add a separate fuge then just elevate the fuge a little and use a bulkhead with a hose or pipe like in the photo above. The bulkhead needs to be higher the the top of the sump. The use a small pump to move water from the sump to the fuge. Set it up so the pump moves water into the fuge and gravity drains it back to the return area of the sump.
