How do I check TDS?

I'm having a heck of a time with what I am assuming is cyano(sp?) and someone mentioned something about a TDS meter I don't know what that is or what it checks. ???

A TDS meter measures Total Dissolved Solids, it is used to test the level of contaminates you have in your water. In this hobby we use it to test the output water of our RODI unit to ensure it reads 0.

I test mine to make sure it's less than 25

Is that before or after the DI?

After. My RO membrane probably needs replaced, but I've used tap water for years without anything bad happening. over 50% of what is in tap water is calcium anyway.

That's still pretty good after the RO. if it was after the DI it would be time to recharge or replace the DI resin

My TDS is 09 after RO and 0 after DI.
