How do I connect to my Profilux?

I have a Plus II that I pulled out of storage. I understand that I can upgrade to the III (for a nominal fee) but in the mean time it seems that I have to program it manually. The last time I had it connected I used my desktop and a 25 ft cable, much to my dismay said cable will not connect to my laptop and I no longer have a desktop unit. I know there is a wireless expansion for the unit but its $350 and I seem to recall it being about half that or less a year ago, but I could be wrong.

From what I have seen the only options for me to program it are:

1. Buy the wireless module for $353.90
2. Upgrade to the III for $375 (a more logical choice)
3. Click the little buttons on the front about 8 million times :spin2:
4. Will the USP PC Interface (PL-0010) work? Still $75...

Unfortunately for me, spending another few hundred dollars is out of the question right now. Any POSITIVE input is appreciated.

buy a serial to USB adapter for less than $50 and connect this to the GHL serial cable and connect over USB

SCORE!! I asked about that exact option at Radio Shack (probably my first mistake) and they said it didn't exist. Now that you said it I know its out there, Ill check some of the local electronic stores tomorrow.

It would seem their employees know more about phones and their accessories than actual electronics, but that's another topic.
