How do I feed me rose bubble tip?!

I purchased a rose several weeks ago and it parked itself between two cracks at the bottom of my live rock. It seems to only come out from the crevace for a few hours during midday then disappears again. I have tried several times to feed it mysid and the fleshy parts of frozen krill, and it grabs them shortly then it lets them go and the current takes them. What should I feed it to entice it to eat? It's about 4+ inches and has a mouth that looks like it could more than handle the mysid (or even krill), but it just doesn't take. Do I need to downgrade the food size to brine, or even cyclops? It looks healthy as far as I can tell, but I would like to be sure and maybe even get it to grow and hopefully split over time. Im running HO T5's and water parameters are all normal (1.025 salinity, 8.3ph, 0 nitrites, nitrates, phosphates, 600cal, etc). Temp is a steady 78F).

I picked up a nautilus sea squirt feeding prong. Turn off all power heads including the return and squirt a nice batch of mysis mixed in some water. That should take care of it.

I just placed the food in the tenticals (half a silverside) till it grabbed it firmly. It took it a couple tries but it finally got it. The first time it wouldnt eat i fed it some mysis, it seemed to catch that pretty easily.

It seems to catch and hold onto the food for roughly a minute, the just let's go of it. I will try with the pumps off and see if that helps. Thanks again for the advice.

ok my rose is doing awesome, I work at albertons so this is what i do i bought frozen shrimp from my department i peel them and cut them into chuncks the size of there mouth and drop them on it.. it works great the anemone loves it

the food you were feeding may be to small or its not used to being fed, you don't need to feed a BTA it will live off of light alone

i have one that was about 4 inches and now it is the size of a dinner plate. i ignore it for the most part. i may every once in awhile feed a bay scallop. it

Oh yes, i did use a syringe. Which you can get for free if you dont have one. I just went to the walmart pharmacy and asked for one, they handed it right over.

I just wait til he is opened up pretty good and thaw some mysis. I use a turkey baster to suck up about half of the mysis(mix the mysis with just enough water to cover so you get a bunch with one squirt).

Then I put the tip of the baster about an inch or so away from the anemone's mouth and slowly squirt the mysis out. Don't do it too fast, they don't like blasts of water. The anemone will slowly close up around the food. This is why you get a good dose in the baster so you only have to do it once. If you tried to feed again the mysis would be all over the place. You want the anemone to be able to have the food on top of it's mouth and close the tentacles around it.

Purchased a RBTA a few weeks ago. When feeding time comes once every 3 day I generally cut-up a small silver side and drop it into it's tentacles. When feeding time comes along, I also turn off all pumps. Sump and Power Heads remain off for about 45 minutes while everything eats. My RBTA has also found a crevice to live in; however it is at the top of the tank with the tentacles exposed; only the foot is lodged in the crevice.

Yeah, mine seems to have holed itself up in a crack and only comes out for a bit at a time from what I can tell. It looks happy when it does though. Of all the cracks and holes it could choose from, that was the last place I would have expected. I'm thinking of moving the rock it's under to get it to move to a better location, but I keep tellingmyself that it knows what is best for itself.

with my bubble tip (aprox 5in in diameter) i just place a whole silverside in its tenicles untill it grabs it and wraps around it. thats it and it has worked awesome for me
