I have an older 225 FW aga. wish I could go reef, but ya know.
it weighs 300lbs empty. I used a hand truck to move it up about 4 stairs at my old house without problem. It was heavy though. went outside down four stairs on the truck no biggie. I think a few guys lifted it onto my 3/4 ton tuck bed. That just happened to line up with the new portch on the new apt. It seems like we got it in the door easy enough, but I can't remember that part very well. Then we just slid it down the 24 or so stairs into my basement. and then lifted it onto the stand after hand trucking it across the room. how do I get it back up the staris without having my "friends" hate me when we are done? i think the truck will be a major PITA up that many stairs. I thought about building some sort of basic case around the bottom and trying to come-along it up. But I dunno if I have enough cable.
What have others done? This is one of the biggest problems with big tanks....
