Need help getting this anemone off this rock. It is starting to sting other things so I want to sell or take to LFS for credit. Any ideas on how to do this? He is lodged in there pretty good.

i'm not a pro by any means...but we just moved one the other day. we just made it mad so is shrank down, then took a butter knife to lift and roll his foot off the rock. it worked for us. you have to go slow and easy.

How about ice? Ive heard about this but dont really now if its good for the nem or if it would work...

The thing is you get some ice in a bag and slowly cool the foot where its attached until it will let go. the ice should never direvtly touch the foot always use something to separate such as a plastic bag..

I would be careful with a butter knife as you could slice its foot or possibly tear it. Try moving some water flow so its directed at it and it may detach that way as they dont like direct flow. I have heard of the ice trick to but results vary. Just be careful with anything that results in prying or pealing its foot away from what its attached too

Thanks. Looks like I will try a powehead. If anyone wants him I live in the SF Bay area, PM me and if you can help get him off, you can have him.

I just moved mine last week. It helps if you can remove the rock from the tank.
If you're lucky, simply holding the rock upside down and let gravity help it get off the rock.
I did have to pry the foot off using a forecep (you can use any blunt flat object). don't be afraid to get in there, a small amount of tissue tearing off is fine. the rbta was all bubbled up in the new tank in like 15 minutes.
