I have a geo style reactor with 15 lbs or schuran media in it. I have been running the reactor for close to 2 yrs and have been dropping the ph to accommodate the increased demand. This week I soaked it in vinegar and calibrated with 7.0 solution.
For at first I ran the controller at 6.15 to 6.3 with 2 drops a sec and 1.5 bubbles a sec. As the tank got older I needed more ca.
Two weeks ago just plugged the solenoid into a outlet and ran the co2 continuously and the ph seems to stay at 5.9. STILL NEED MORE CA ETC.
Increased the bubble counter bit and it is at 5.8 for a day. I would think there is a point that the media would just really dissolve.
QUESTION???
WHAT IS THE POINT SCHURAN STYLE MEDIA TURN TO MUSH OR WASTES AWAY QUICKLY?
DO I HAVE TO CONSIDER A LARGER REACTOR?
