I would down the mag 24 to a Mag 18 or 12 sounds like a lot of flow throug the sump. You also didnt mention much about flow but if it were MY tank I would tee the return to 2 sea swirls and also have a pair of tunze 6100's on a multicontroller. Just my .02

I only have 1 heater the lights and pumps provide a bit of heat. Lessen the amount of sand put your rocks up on a pvc stand with a spray bar under the rocks. The mag 24 will be fine if a bare sump, if you are planning a mud sump then slow it down. If your are looking for turn over through return pump use tunze or a close loop. JMO Brewen

I to would downsize my return pump. Shoot for 10x-15x through your sump. That should be enough for skimming and refugium if you set one up. I would then set up a closed loop for the rest of my flow. Something in the 40x range with a manifold to be able to change the flow in the tank. JMO.

A 120 is a 4' tank, why 3 halides ? 2 would work just fine.

I'm also not sure the overflow could handle a Mag 24.

You should be careful with the firefish as well, the purple will fight to the death in most instances. They're not schoolers like the orange ones.

Get rid of the Mags. Buy a nice external, it'll save you money in the long run. Maybe a T4, or something.

For the lights, I'd go 2x250SE on Luminarcs. I wouldnt even bother with the T5 actinics.

Just curious, but why 3 halides? If you have a center brace, you should probably do 2, but might get away with 4. Where is the third bulb?

I hope you are running the mag inline. Otherwise that is a possible change. Your return should run close to what your drains can handle. If you have a AGA standard 120, that is too much. If you drilled everything yourself, you could be good. No such thing as too much flow.

Are you really doing o-zone?

Lighting and rock are on the high side. If you are done buying, this is good. Cut back on both to start if you haven't yet.

to acheive a 4 inch sand bed you need 240 lbs of sand. if not than you are going to have problems with the sand bed latter down the road. you will also need recharge kits for the sand . do lots of reading before you set up a sand bed, If done correct it could be great, if done wrong it can be a disaster.
Good luck with new tank.
