Dumb question....how large do LTA's get? I have one that is about 1 foot across and seems to be continually growing. If it gets too much larger, it may become a problem.

that nem i thought it was full size i just went and read and its supposed to get 2 feet and i beleive it does any one have a tank big enough Jeff?

i have one and it is about 6 inches across. when i first got it it looked like a small white bubble anemone, then i put it in my tank and it is now green/brown. and people say it can't live under pc's. i have a 30 gallon 24inch tall tank with 110 watts of pc and the anemone is getting bigger. it is now big enough to host my pair of pink skunks. take that MH people. JK haha

LOL, you would think a 180 wouldn't be a problem! I swear the base on it is 4-6" in diameter. I guess I shouldn't complain as its doing very well. I just had to move some SPS that were around it. As it stretches toward the light, the tentacles were flowing over the rock ledges around it. It hasn't stung anything.....yet!

frags are doind well i have gotten lots of frags lately that thing has stretched the entire height of my 29 it is giant
edwing that is as i found out is not a long term solution they need intense light in the long run and lots of flow and space
jeff that nem likes shrimp and crabs i dont think its sting ever killed anythiing in my tank exept xenia i didnt have SPS then

I haven't noticed any casualties yet. I am missing a blue chromis though.
Every now and then my 6-line will take a little nip at it. The anemone appears unaffected.
This thing has one saving grace. It hasn't tried to move (knock on wood). I can see how you might run into complications edwing. This one is under 400W MH and still stretches toward the light, which is where my SPS are.

One of my LFS has a 10 year old green BTA that is at least 20" across with tentacles as thick as cigars! It is amazing. Its in a 1200 gallon tank under a 1000 watt 20 K halide. Flow is moderate at best in its location.
I was just looking at it last night. I think its going to split soon. When I was leaving, it was beginning to show some signs of folding in on itself near the mouth.
