How long before your clowns hosted in a bubble tip anemone

I think for those who really want it but haven't had it happen, it makes sense to buy clowns that are hosting already. I find it a good sign of things to come and more likely they will desire to host your nem at home if they are at least hosting something already in your LFS. Even if that something happens to be a coral...,Duncan, Goni, torch, softy , etc etc.

I've heard that a mates pair have higher chance of finding a host. I've been tempted to buy another oscii...

In my 90 gallon, my pair of Ocellaris took about a week to accept a Sebae (which they are not supposed to want...sigh...thanks lack of knowledge on my part and even more so on the part of my LFS). After a tragic Trigger VS. Snail VS. Nem event (don't ask), I added a BTA to my 300 gallon. Same pair of clowns. They, however, have decided that they prefer the Duncan to the Nem. I'm still hopeful but this is two months in and they've shown no interest. On the plus side, the nem is doing very well. On the downside, I don't think a pair of clowns are what the Duncan had in mind. I may well have to remove it if the love fest does not subside.

The entire time I've been in the hobby, through all the moves and upgrades, I have always had both occelaris clowns and BTAs in my display tank - and none have ever shown any interest. They just pick a corner of the tank to hang out in.

I have a percula in my refugium and he took to a BTAs within a week... eventually the BTA got eaten by a powerhead.

My Davincis hosted it overnight after I got the RBTA. They were in it for months before I got tired of re-arranging the tank from the RBTA moving. It did not stop moving for 10 months, every few weeks at a time. Got stuck in the powerheads several times. They have been hosting my flowerpot for like a year now.
I know how you feel though...

Huh....

Now the true perc seems to NOT want the occi in the nem. I was under the impression the perc is the male, the occi the dominant female. Any chance the perc will share the space over time?

Did they finally just go in, or did you convince them somehow? Mine haven't shown any interest in my BTA for almost a full year now. It's slightly annoying lol, but I know it's also not their natural host as they're perculas.
