IM going to be taking a vacation next wednesday - monday

how long can the fish make it without food?

technically I could feed them wednesday before leaving and monday when I get back

so I guess they would be without food thursday - sunday

is that too long?

I have 2 fish, yellow watchman goby and pink skunk clownfish

I would think that if they are healthy and well fed now that they would survive.

Of course,....they may not be happy about it.:D

If you have pods, they may forage a bit. If you could have somebody come in once, they'd be happier, but fish being shipped often go 2 weeks without eating, and they'll be a whole lot happier if they don't get fed than if you have some fishsitter get too sympathetic and overfeed. I think there have been far more tanks crashed and fish killed by feeding during vacation than by not feeding---especially over such a short time.

What you do need to set up is a good autotopoff system to make sure their salinity stays stable. I used autotopoff.com, a 1200 Maxijet, a checkvalve, and an old salt bucket. Everything set up beautifully.

And I promptly forgot to plug it back in after adjusting it when I left on my first vacation after tank setup. Don't do that. ;)
Everything survived, but I had a salinity of 1.028 when I returned. Nasty. And far more dangerous than not feeding.

Don't Wory about it. I have a fishsitter and i told her not to fed my fis. I took the food and put it where she can;t get to it just in case. 7 days and everythign is stil fine...

excellent, and IM pretty sure that my tank will be fine for evaporation over 4 days

thanks everyone

now the only variable is making sure the A/C doesnt freeze up or anything liek that
