My pair is 14 years old. Tank raised. I thought I read they can live to be about 20 years old, but I really am unsure. Any idea?

There was a thread about a pair of 25 year old ocellaris, so you could potentially have another decade with yours :). There is also a pair of 30 year old maroons out there, so clowns do indeed live quite a while.

ive heard stories of them living up to 40........but average lifespand sounds more like what was mentioned above.

i saw a website with some that was 28 years old and had survived hurricanes, power cuts etc. ill try find it again

I have a generator to get me through these times.

Wow, for 27year olds I would think they'd be much bigger.
And that tank....uh...well...uh...color?
Oh well, hats off to those w/ long term success!

I found a trick to keep my clown from biting me.
I wear a shiny watch, and she bit at that for some reason.
I laughed every time, "Ha Ha, wear your teeth down on that you little snot!"
Finally she stopped.

At first I thought it was cute, because all the other fish hide. Every time I put my arm in the tank the clowns bite and the Cleaner Shrimp runs up my arm looking for a snack. R

I almost got rid of my maroon because of this.
She drew blood every time.
Now, I'm a carpenter, and I'm used to splinters/cuts, but it would be a sneak attack that would surprise the snot out of me, and usually make me knock something over!
Try wearing something shiny.
In fact, when you swim in the ocean they rec not wearing shiny, as fish hit that first.
Bet it cures her little butt!

lol that looks fake-*** hell..... I refuse to believe that lol ....being lived that long they should be in a better environment at least sheesh....
