How long does it take you to turn a browned Acro to a nice piece?

I've seen a lot of people with different results. I don't think this is the type of thing that can be necessarily 'done right' or 'done faster if you, X, Y, or Z'.

Although I'm wondering if each piece is a 1-2 month journey, or if you don't expect true color to start showing up for 3-6 months.

Again, I know there's a million variables. But I'm curious where the timeframe is for you guru's who like to turn wild turds into stunners.

I have work over some rescues. Some take a few week and some take a few months. Hard to say if there is anything we can do to change that.

yeah,what mark said.Same here.
Some recover relatively fast while others weeks or months.
Depends on the reasons they were browned out in the first place, plus adjusting to your parameters, flow etc

I rememeber i had one acro that started swoing some good color and growth after 7 months in the tank.Came so close throwing it away,so many times:)

I have an acro frag that I've seen colored up before and it was absolutely beautiful, it's been brown ever since I set my tank up, almost a year now with small teases of changing and only a little growth. I bet if it went into one of your tanks you'd have it colored up in a month or less.

I'll leave a new brown coral for a couple of months. If there's no improvement I will move it somewhere else to adjust the flow or light it receives. I have a couple of acros that get upset if you so much as look at them the wrong way!

Well said. To add I think k it depends on why it is brown. If it's brown from bad water parameters and inadequate lighting it can take a while. If it's light brown with a little color because it's somewhat fresh from the ocean and stressed from holding tanks it will color up quicker. Also species plays a big factor. Placement not so much if your tanks in order. A brown acro should color in a good tank with very good lighting.

This took about 5 months, it was 2 different frags one was supposedly red planet, and the other green planet. The piece laying down was a vertical branch that had no tissue on half, so I cut off as much as I could and glued it flat. The brown picture is pretty accurate, it's a lot more red in person now. After the brown, it had strawberry shortcake type coloring for a while.
