I just bought a pair of baby snowflake clowns and they are approx 1 1/2 inches long. I dont know for sure how old they are but how long do you think it will take to grow them out and attempt to breed them? Here is a cute pic of the ones I just bought.

snowflakes are ocellaris, so earliest is 1.5 years from birth. You might only need to wait 6 months if you are really lucky given the size that they are shipping out these days.

Well, the one is only a little over an inch and the other is for sure 1 1/2 inches. So they are small, but was hoping I could fatten them up!!!!LOL

Witht he size these are, how old do you think they are?
Age matters less then maturity in clowns. Depending on the environment they were kept in, they may not even be Male or Female yet. Some clowns remain juveniles for many years.

You should notice one putting on a major growth spurt in the next few weeks, that will be the female. After such a growth spurt 3-6 months of heavy feeding and you'll likely see the early signs of breeding if the rest of the environment is proper.

if snowflakes are mature at 2-3 months, it will not be the price it's being sold at. :)

Rob, any of your first batch babies are breeding yet?

"Rob, any of your first batch babies are breeding yet?"

Not that I have heard of Hubert. They are only 7 months old now.

"Oh, I see. so you cant even sell them till there at least 6 months old?"

Really its more like 4-9 months. Depending on growth rate. Average 6 or so. Some fry develop really slow for some reason.

I just got the confirmation for my lil clowns. They are telling me that they are approx 10 months old. So, maybe I will start seeing signs in the next 6 months.
