How long for clam to attach to LR

I just got a new clam. I'm going to place him mid way up in my tank on some LR. How long before he'll attach to it?

Very quickly mine started to attach within 24hrs

It varys some atach quickly some dont....I had some when It took close to a week, and some it took less than a day....

It depends how much of the byssal threads and bysus were damaged during removal.

Tridacna croceas will almost always attach as their byssal is very large but other species take longer and some will never attach but don't worry if they don't attach as they do not have to attach to live.

I got one that attached in a day and another in a few days. Actually, I'd prefer them not to attach to anything, now I can't move them .
