Please read Reef Central's recommend tank size for tangs sticky which can be found here. Basically this fish grows to over a foot quickly and should never be considered for a 20 gallon tank.
I got mine along with a 180gl. eight months ago and he was about 3 in. long. Now he's reaching 7+ and sometimes I feel even that lrg tank isn't big enough.
I bought one that was about the size of a dime for my 150 Gallon and in less then a year it grew to about 6" and I removed it. Wait until you have a larger tank
I say at birth or for the duration of quarantine. Stick to nano fish for a 20 gallon and only buy fish that will live out their life fully in your current system.
