how many days with CP to treat Uronema and what concentration?

I have one 1 lyretail anthia that survived an outbreak of Uronema in qt tank.
I am treating with CP at a dose of 20mg/l.
how many days should I keep fish in medicated water to be sure Uronema is erradicated?


Also, I quarentined 5 resplendit anthias in a separate tank of the lyretail and 1 resplendit died 2ndo day of 1st TTM, I did not see any signs so I atributed the dead to handling during shipment.
fish look healthy and eat very well and are very active and I already finished TTM+Prazi but since anthias are prone to Urenoma I am thinking of treating this group with CP to be sure. in this case as profilactic should I use same concentration and period of CP?

It's a "no" to both.

CP is the preferred method of treating Amyloodinium. It may also treat Uronema.
However, there are fish that can't handle CP: Seahorses, Pipefish and certain Wrasses. Those need to be treated with other chemicals.

Generally I would wait with any treatment until the fish show symptoms of an infection and then treat it targeted.
I would also generally not do TTM at the front end of the quarantine period as it could obscure symptoms of other infections TTM can't treat (only thing it actually treats is Cryptocaryon). Only when a fish arrives with an identified Cryptocaryon infection I would recommend to do TTM right away. Otherwise it may be better to do it half way into the quarantine period. By then more aggressive parasites have usually shown up if present.

why will TTM obscure symptoms of other diseases if done at front end??

for Urenoma formaline dips is the treatment of choice then??
if this is the case what is the protocol that you follow for curing Uronema?
how many dips, for how long and at what concentration?

do you treat differently with formaline fish that have confirmed Uronema and those that are treated as a preventive measure?

There seems to be no consensus on how to treat uronema.

Some have reported success with CP. Others with formalin.

Formalin between ttm failed in my case.
However, I feel that if I had pure CP in the tank, it may have worked out better.
