Hey Everyone,

I was wondering how many fish you all have in your tanks, specifically in the 120 gallon range?

I currently have-

1. 3" Purple Tang
2. 4" Melanurus Wrasse
3. 3" Canary Wrasse
4. 2.5" Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasse
5. 1.5" Naked Occelaris Clown
6. 3" Foxface Rabbitfish
7. 3" Female Square Back Anthias
8. 6" Dragonfaced Pipefish
9. 2" Lawn Mower Blenny

There is little to no agression whatsoever. The purple tang is the boss, but he doesn't go after any newcomers after the 1st day.

Would I be safe to add a small goby or two? Any suggestions? Am I pretty much stocked? All suggestions welcome.

As long as your up on your water changes you should be fine. It really boils down to a personal prefrance. I have that many fish in a 75 gallon but I do 10% water changes weekly.

Thanks for the reply. Well I am doing regular 10% water changes every two weeks. I don't have any nitrates. Phosphates are were at .04 last I checked.

I am happy with what I have, and realize that the all these fish will get bigger, especially the tang and foxface.

I was thinking that some kind of goby, or rock dwelling fish more similar to the lawn mower blenny as far as habits and personality. But also stays small and doesn't need pods as part of its diet.

A friend bought some ORA gobies (i cant remember the name) they're really tiny like blue neon gobies, but black with yellow... those add some movement and perform a nice function for the reef.

Are you referring to Yellow-line Goby - Elacatinus figaro ?

Nice looking fish.

I have a 120, here is my stock list
-Achilles Tang
-Yellow Coris Wrasse
-3 Green Chromis
-2 Four Wheel Drive Gobies
-4 Red Headed Gobies
-2 Mandarin Dragonets

I dont think that your tank is overstocked.

Just to bring this thread back to life...here is my stock list for my 120:

1 Hippo Tang
1 Diamond Goby
1 Target Mandarin
1 Tricolor Fairy Wrasse
1 Scotts Fairy Wrasse
1 Cleaner Wrasse
2 Oscellaris Clowns
3 Lyretail Anthias
4 Bartlett Anthias

15 total fish. Although this is quite a bit of fish, they all (with exception of the Hippo Tang) do not exceed 6 inches in length and contribute marginally to the bio load.

I also am running a Vertex 170 Alpha skimmer, 2 vortech MP40, 1 vortech MP10, two media reactors (1 with carbon, 1 with rowaphos), and about 100 lbs live rock, 100 lbs live sand, and a dsb in my sump with chaeto and other macro algae.
