How many nems to a tank?

Hello everyone!

I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with keeping multiple nems (LTA, RBTA, Haddoni, etc.) in the same tank. I currently have a 5" RBTA and 10" LTA. They have been in the same, 72g bowfront tank for over 5 months now and seem very "happy" and healthy. They both eat great and have not move much, other than when I first introduced them.

A few weeks back, I came across the opportunity of obtaining a Green Haddoni, just under 10" at a great price. However, I am concerned that it may not get along with the other two or that my tank might be too small for all three. Has anyone got any experience having these different types of nems together? What size tank? Any possible so-called "chemical warfare"?

Thanks!

The haddoni would grow too big for a tank that size with the other nems in there and yes there is a chance that the haddoni could cause warefare with the lta and less likely but still a possability the bta's. I currently do have a mixed reef with 3 types of nem in the same system. I have a ritteri(mag),bta's(2) and a lta. they get along fine. From my experience carpet nems(gigs and haddoni) like to be with there own species or alone in a tank.

Thanks for the feedback. I kind of figure that, so decided not to buy it. What tank size do you have?

I have Gigantea, Haddoni, Malu and BTA together without problem. Twice I keep Magnifica with Haddoni, it did not turn out too well but I cannot determine for sure that it is Chemical warfare. I never have problem with keeping the same species anemone together including BTA, Malu, Gigantea, Haddoni, and Magnifica.
I do not have much experience with Crispa or LTA.

My tank is a 90g. tje ritteri is probably 10" the bta's 1 about 3" the other 5" and the lta is just a baby i rescued from a lfs that is bleached he is about 2". I plan on selling the lta when it grows some and gets healthy for other corals

All I can say is... WOW! What a cool setup. Especially managing to keep so many nems. How long have you had the carpet with the rbta and LTA? Did you introduce them fairly close to each other (time wise) or was it throughout the last few years? The photos are a great way to get a feeling for how well they adapted.

It would be cool to see a video...

Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.

Thank you very much for the compliment! I love my nems, I always generally liked them from when I started the hobby. The carpet and RBTAs and LTA have been together the longest, I would say about 2 and 1/2 to 3 years, at the time I also had fewer BTAs but with splitting and all, I end up keeping more than I should. Introduction varied, like I said, splitting added a new nem or two here and there and when it came to the Mags they were added about a year ago for one and another about 2 months ago.

I will gladly post a video of them when I get home, glad you enjoy my tank.

Cool! Look forward to watching that... Cheers:thumbsup:

Loved it! What a great looking tank. The rock scape looks cool especially with all the caves and shapes allowing the fish to swim through or hide. You got a nice collection of nems and fish, too. Great work!

Thank you for sharing. Hopefully, someday I will be able to get there.

Heteractis magnifica is the anemone that seems to stress the most from other carpet anemones.

In my Coldwater reef tank I have 250+ anemones, representing 8 different species in a 110 gallon display. And its my favorite tank by far:)

This rock holds 150+ mini plumous anemones displaying the four main colors.
