Hi

I have the display tank with 72" x 36" x 20" (water level), and the aquascaping is in the picture below

Mostly this tank is dominated for SPS
Right now I have 02 x 6205 and 7096 controller

I need you to consult me
1. How many tunze is need ?
2. Where is the best place for them

Thank you in advanced

1) I think you have enough to start, after the tank is established you might want to add more flow for areas that don't get enough.

2) I would place one pump in each back corner and aim them to hit the front 60" away.

Thanks for your feedback,

Should you pls tell me what wave mode is the best I should set with 7096? Sorry for stupid question but this is the first time I use this product, and I dont know much about it.

I would select Interval and alternate the pumps every 5-6 hours. While they are on I would pulse them from 30-100% every 3 seconds.

I am a newbie of tunze so can you explain more detail how these modes work and what I expect to see when running them.

Thank you

Interval is the time between pumps so the pumps would alternate on and an off every 6 hrs so only one was on at a time. The pump that is on would pulse from 30-100% every 3 seconds.

I see that the 7096 have the wavebox function, so can I compile 02 x 6205 with a wavebox on the same 7096? if yes, what is the best mode we can set on the controller to drive all of them?
Thx

You would use Interval mode for the first 2 sockets and connect your 6205's and use wavemode for the last 2 sockets and run the wavebox.

And here the result when I test the wavecontroller function. One pumb is on the back left, one on the right side.

Please advise if it is good to run.
BTW, when I set one pumb to run with wavecontroller mode, I hear the sound like someone is knocking on the glass. Only right side pumb has this problem. What happen?

The 6105, 6205 and 6305 are not really designed for rapid on and off cycling and will tend to knock on start up, the pumps won't be harmed but they weren't built to be wavemaker pumps and noise will be the normal result. This can be reduced by adding disks 6065.792, you can add one or two below the drive unit and one above it to keep it from moving when the coils energize and slapping against the bottom of the pump. In the fall we will have a new wave pump 6265 and it will have a specially built drive unit that will not knock. This new drive unit could be used in a 6205 or 6305 but not in a 6105 as it requires more power due to the longer magnet.

You don't have the frequency properly tuned in wavecontroller mode, you should get one wave with the crest on one side and the trough on the other.

Thanks for your reply. I've adjusted the right pump and knocking issue is gone now.

The frequency is default now (0.3s), I also tried to run auto adjustment, but I see quicker frequency (or bigger value set) is less wave. So what should be the proper value I can set?

Thank you

Their is only one frequency that will work for each size tank, it is best to use the auto adjustment and watch for a wave and then click stop and manually adjust it from there to get it just right.
