I am just wondering as I want to make paneling to cover my metal stand. Just trying to figure out costs.

1/4 inch? You might want to go with birch, a nice grain, but not the cost. Go to austins hardwoods in santa ana. Maybe 20 bucks for a sheet of birch.

i got american cherry to make the panels for my 180 and the canopy.... along with the matching moldings to picture frame the panels in and it cost me about $160 from a place in the san fernando valley they had all kinds from walnut to oak to maple to cherry

hey there its called Far West Plywood Company

its off of Parthenia and Reseada on the northeast corner its kinda tricky to get to it cuz u have to go down a side street but u can see the sign there from the street call 411 and get there info and go from there but they have all kinds of woods and trims really good stuff

I recently built a stand for my 180. I used oak and oak lined plywood. For the stand alone, I spent about $400. This includes some crown molding I bought for the bottom trim.

I still need to build the canopy....

Here's a pic of the stand. It's a pretty bad pic but you get the idea. I stained it a red oak...

Thanks guys! It was a lot of work but worth it in the end. I am saving up some energy to tackle the canopy which will house the three Lumenmax 3 HQI pendants I am picking up this weekend :D

I also need to re-aquascape the 180 to hold the contents of my 120 (see gallery). I am going to tackle the aquascaping this weekend and hopefully score some frags at reefapalooza :smokin:
