I tinkered with my flow and ended up with 2 korila 4's and one korialia #3. I also have a maxi1200 in the centre of the back of the tank on a timer to disturb the flow.
I like alot of other reefers thought it was a good thing to do.
However, my frog spawn shut down, and two of my gonipora on the bottom also would not open.
I changed the angle of a couple of them so they are bouncing off the front glass first and move the gonipora===everyone is happy again.
I guess the point is that you really have to tinker with these depending on the corals you have in your tank......and
despite all this flow across the substrate I still have to baste the sand bed every week or else I get traces of cyano or algae
but then I still love to spoil feed my fish so like everything else it is balance balance balance
