How much is this sump worth?

Picked up a 75g and this sump came with it. I believe it is custom, however the glass is thick and this thing is HEAVY! I want to do a 20 long for my sump so I want to sell it or trade. How much is this worth?

It is 20" long, 14" wide, 13" high.

Maybe $20-30? I agree, it's not so much the glass or build quality, it's the 15g size. A lot of people will buy a new 40b or 20/29g at Petco during the dollar per gallon sale so there's not a lot of value there, IMO.

yeah... its not worth much (well to me anyways).. maybe 20-30 as stated....
Maybe you should sell it as a "bounce sump" or "rutti tutti sump" and maybe those crazy people will pay good money for it.. :) :p

If you can find somebody with a small tank you might be able to sell it, but I certainly wouldn't consider it for anything bigger than a 40b. Even that would be pushing it, reserve volume wise. It will also be difficult to find a skimmer small enough to fit.

How thick is thick? If your planning on making a 20L for a sump, the reuse the glass for your baffles.

looks like a modified cadlights/sc aquarium glass sump. if it is, then its standard 1/4" glass. You can always modify it by moving the baffles around to your liking. A 20 long aquarium glass will be nowhere as thick as this sump's.

That's what I was going to say. I have a 125g cadlight tank and it seems they make their sumps with a useless center section. Mine is 50g and I'm going to build a new one that's bigger (I have some extra room in the stand).

it looks like this sump was modified to make the center section even smaller (more useless). The original partition is about 1/3 for each section. I modified mine to make 1/3 an ATO reservoir, 1/3 the drain and skimmer section, and 1/3 the return section. And I raised the skimmer section from 6 to 8", though that is not strictly necessary.

How much is it worth? It is worth whatever you, as a willing seller, and someone else, a willing buyer, aggree to as the price that make both of you happy. List it for a price you would be happy with and if you get no bites adjust till you get some bites.

It's the free market
