how much strontium?

I tried to figure out how much strontium it takes to raise ppm 10 points and wondered if you guys could take a look.

Anyway, I figured 1 mole or 87.62 grams Sr would raise 2315 gallons water 10ppm.

87.62 g/mole x 1L/10mg
= 8762L/mole
= 2315 gal/mole

Am I in the ballpark?

Those numbers are fine, although we'd need to know the makeup of the actual supplement to give a dosing rate. Most often, people dose strontium chloride, so you'd need to add about 40% more, assuming you have strontium chloride with no water attached.

Oh, you're right-I didn't account for chloride. Really good catch. Thanks for going over those numbers. My high school daughter got out her chemistry notes and got me started.
I appreciate you letting me know that I was close to getting it right and how to fix it. This little bit of chemistry 101 is kind of fun. (:
