How much & when to feed ?

I have a 100 gallon tank, 40 gallon sump, mh 250 10k. I dont have much, but I have alot of live rock, polyps, zenia. I have a few zoos, 2 anenomes, 2 clams. A 4 inch crocea and a 2 inch maxima. I have some kent phtoplex and micro*vert. I was wondering when to feed and how much. It says one capful for every 50 gallons. I don't have much in my tank so I am sure not that much. Could some one help me out a little. I read the articles on feeding, but I am unsure how much and if they would prefer the phytoplex or the micro*vert. Thanks for your time.

IMO microvert and phytoplex really don't provide much to your clams since they are dead. The biggest consumer in your tank for those at the moment are probably some polyps and feather worms. I recommend you get some DT live phyto if not culture your own. You can start with 5mm every other day and gradually increase dose so you don't spike up anything in your system. Remember to turn off skimmer and mechanical filtration while feeding for at least an hour so your food doesn't get flushed out.

I've never fed my clams, ever and they are growing. 1 Deresa, 1 maxima, 1 crocea. They all are or used to be under 20K 150 watt MH. Now the Deresa and Crocea are under 10K. they used to be about 3 inches and now the Deresa and crocea are about 5-6 inches and the maxima is new.

I have an almost identical setup - 100 gallon, 250mh, and a 4.5" crocea and a 3" maxima. I use DTs every other day, just a capful. I think they are both doing quite well - but who knows if that is the light or the DTS.

where can i get dts. Everyone talks about it. Is it live food, can I raise it. Help me out. I have been on here talking for a year and still done know what it is. I just have kent marine products like phytoplex and micro.

Many good LFS have it. It's a liquid, kept in the fridge. Where do you live? I don't know how to grow it ourselves, but if there is a way, I'd like to try. Does anyone know if it can be grown in a fuge with a nice slow flow, some chaeto and good light?

I like DT but if you can find it use Phyto-feast.. Barry from Clamsdirect sells it.
