How often do your RBTA's split

Not often enough. I was given one from a split (my brother's) his split every few months but were tiny. Mine just kept getting bigger and bigger. Finally after about 1 1/2 years, it split. That was early last spring now I have 2 enormous roses. I have heard there is a variety that continually split, I have one of those. I personally think these split so often due to stress. I like to think that I am keeping it so happy and healthy that it grows instead.
If you do purchase a bta there is a market for the clones so I wouldn't worry about that unless your tank is too small, then I'd advise you to forgo the bta. Your signature says 90g so your good as long as the tank is mature and stable. : )

i've had mine for about 7 months now i would say its been its gone from about a 3" circle to well over 15" oval/circle now...so splitting as lmecher said depends on how happy or unhappy the nem is i would say.

Now follow me here....

I bought three, sold four, gave three away, then got rid of them all and there were 6 at the end. I believe that adds up to 13 total after starting with 3. I stopped feeding htem and they stopped splitting.

And don't tell me thery were stressed..... They were well fed and kept splitting.

This all in about a year period.

hum...well tbh, i've had one for a year and it never split

but then again, i recently acquired one near death and i thought it had died...until i saw two very small ones roaming around the tank...

My RBTA has split twice in 8 months time. Mom and both clones look and act like healthy nems. Good color, full of xooxanthellae, sticky tentacles, tightly closed mouths, readily accept food.

so far, mine is splitting every 6mo or so.. but a lot of it has to do with the way I manage my tank and water changes...
