Ive had this guy for a while,& was wondering if i am feeding it too much.I feed it 3 or 4 silversides 3 x a week.

You can feed it as much or as little as you like. I have never target fed mine. They keep growing and dividing anyway.

I feed mine a couple times a week. Have you ever seen your's puke up the fish after they eat them? Anthony Calfo says that most cnidarians can only eat up to brine shrimp size zooplankton, and they puke up the bigger stuff at night after lights out.

So anyways I was just wondered if you have noticed your's getting rid of to big of food. Thanks for the reply!

Back when I had mine, I fed them couple times a month, and they were growing great with that.

FroggyFeet -- Mine anemones (( Haddoni carpets, LTAs, and BTAs when I had them )) handled food bigger then brine all the time without puking anything up.

I agree with using smaller size food. It has more surface area and is more easily swallowed and digested.

I've not seen rejecting the food, puking, unless it was just too big. I've fed something bigger than 1 cm cubed and they've kept it. Much bigger than that and they've chucked it.

I feed my RBTA's about 3 or 4 krill about once every week to week and a half, I dont feed them that much because every time i feed them it seems like the get an inch bigger, plus they eat some of the fishes food as well. The more you feed them the faster they are gonna grow and bigger they will get and faster they will split. If you want them to split, feed them every three days for about a month and then do a 40% water change, and watch it split in about a week.

I had one rbta & one gbta, fed them a piece of fresh shrimp, scallops or fresh fish everyday. After 2-3 weeks they slit, now I have 4 & dont want anymore. I love them, but dont want a tank full of nems. lol!
I now feed them 1/4 of a silverside once a week. 3 are growing & looking really happy, but one rbta doesnt seem very happy w/ this as of late. Some of his tentacles are smaller then the others & more spaced out that the others, which means (I think), he is not getting enough to eat.
Just like us humans, some require more food than others:mixed:.
I will start giving them 1/2 silverside (in 2 chunks) once a week.

If yours is happy, not roaming & growing w/o a split them maybe ur doing the right thing for him, although they will grow a lot faster w/ more feedings, if thats what u want.

There is a "rule of thumb" in this hobby, but it is amazing that all these creatures are not "excally" the same. Different things work for different people:).

This hobby is defintley an adventure!

Your nem will let u know when he is unhappy.

Best of luck!
