Hey thanks for info! I have been out of the loop for a while and wondered what happend them

NP.
I did a lot of research before certifying SSI. Ultimately I think the teacher matters more than the program, but I couldn't be happier than I am with our SSI experience.

Some of the places i have dived recently:

I turned tropical in 2005 when i went to the GBR to study marine biology, hence all the reefs.
I still love diving and snorkelling in temperate waters though, it's how i grew up.
Of my 21 years, i have spent 8 years diving and ~15 snorkelling so far, with many, many more to come!

Incidentally i'm Padi certified.

53. NASDS Certified in 1977. This is mine and my DH 30th year diving together. We got certified as newlyweds. We are still diving together. He is my favorite dive buddy. Incidentally, we were taught by the founder of SSI, Doug McNeese. His Dad, Doug Sr. opened the Dive Shop in Memphis in the 60's. Doug Jr. now lives in Boulder Co and owns SSI. We went to HS with him in Memphis.

Certified in 2005 at age 21. 130+ dives now with most here in the Pacific northwest but about 30 in and around Townsville, QLD.

26 got certed when i was 12 or 13. i avg ~ 65 dives during any given year.

now if you count a bump dive is a dive it would be closer to 120 dives a year for the last 6 years.
