So many dives I havn't been diving in over 18 years, it became work. my first dive was in a quarry 130' deep. was almost killed by a 5' catfish in the mud at 100' about 4' viability. What an adrenalin rush, wrestling a 80 lb + slimy gooey creature on your first Dive ever. Second Dive that day stayed at 30- 40' on a platform and was hooked. Went diving at this quarry a couple of dozen times then came to FL after high school to train to dive on oil rigs. Became certified Dive instructor, certified mixed gas tech, certified dive medic (yes they exist) dove just about everywhere possible in south Florida and the caribian. Most memorable dives are The Wall (Bahamas), Aruba several different locations unreal, any wreak dive something about wreaks that always is good, and my most favorite type is a current dive in about 3-4 knots feels like flying. I regret losing my Dive logs I had a bunch of them last count was over 5000 hours under water, many on a hooka rig. I'm starting to get back in shape to get back in the water with my youngest son, and I've realized I've forgotten a whole lot from lack of use. After I lose another 50 lbs we will take lessons together, things have changed and always want to keep up to date. in closing, the ocean tried to kill me at east six times, when I was young and stupid, going out when we shouldn't have, diving in currents in low viability, sinking three boats that had no business on the water let alone 5 miles off shore. So all you young divers or new divers be for warned, man was not meant to be in the ocean, he is but an unwanted guest in a somewhat unpredictable hostile but incredibly beautiful garden. Error on the side of caution to dive another day. By the way never dove on an oil rig switched to Ocean engineering school at FAU. wouldn't trade my younger years in the water for anybody else's Life.
