How should a dead anenem look?

I have never seen a dead one so would like to know what a dead or dying anenome look like. Will it be shriveled up? Will it be detached? Will it's mouth be gaping or turned inside out? I know it will stink but you don't know that until it's out of the tank. I see posts once in a while by concern nem keepers that their nem is dead when it's just deflated for a while.

Thanks for all that replied.

Saltwaterfishlover, thanks for the link.

Yeah, a dying nem IS a depressing sight to behold. Hope mine will just die of old age when it's time.

If it dies of old age, then you won't see it happen. Anemones are thought to live for centuries, perhaps not dying at all until something kills them.
