How to "coax" a carpet to move

Soggy Pockets

I have a relatively new blue carpet in my tank which has crushed coral for substrate (bad on my part). I have learned that the carpet needs sand for to plant its' foot - so I have since added an area of fine sand for the carpet to plant itself....My problem is that prior to adding the sand the carpet attached to rocks in the tank...

Suggestions on how to "coax" the carpet to release from where at so I can place by the sand? Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If it's a new carpet I would not try moving it yet. Give it time to get well established before attempting to move it. Just my opinion.

I agree, I wouldn't be in any hurry to move it.

Also, I had one of my Haddonis with CC for 5+ years, never seemed to bother it. I removed the CC for other reasons.

Honestly, at this point I don't see a reason to do it. While I have found Haddonis to be fairly hardy, the first month or two can be difficult. So I wouldn't risk it at all, and I know that blue ones are harder to come by.
