How to cool aquarium with jumpers?

Hi all,
This is the first summer I've had my tank and it's at 82. I raised the lights (LED) and if I keep the glass top open i can usually get it to 80. Problem is i have 2 fish that are known to be jumpers and i feel I've been pressing my luck. Should I try to rig up a fan system with no holes? I can't afford hundreds for a powered chiller. I keep the house at 77 so is 5 degrees normal for equipment heat? Any ideas?
Thanks.

Yes replace top with a screen mesh and add small fans blowing across the surface of the water.

If your house is at 77, how can the tank reaches 80? What is your lighting? I would suggest you find the heat source. My house is also at 77 and my controller is set 78. I see the heater comes on every couple of hours or so.

My house is 75 and my tank is 79 or 80. I have 2 wavemakers and 2 pumps in the water plus a T5 light. The light puts out a lot of heat. I had glass covers so I pulled both off. the tank went to 78. I put one back on and it went to 79.

Not just lighting that adds heat; pumps will as well.

Even one fan can make several degrees difference. They make arrays of 4, that can really make a difference. Look up aquarium fan
