How to encourage an anemone to split

I'm currently in the process of finding a new home for my anemone, because it has grown too large for my tank.

I got it in Feb/Mar last year, and in about 9 months, it has grown from about a 4" diameter, to about 12" - like 10 times the size.

I don't really want to get rid of it because my clown loves it, so I'm wondering if there is a way I can encourage it to split - I am not cutting it.

I have the opposite problem, mine are the size of quarters and keep splitting, want to trade lol.

If you don't learn to split it yourself, you'll have the same problem very soon, again. It's not that hard.

Ah, ok. Never mind then. Do you know where I can order one from? Even if LA was an option they have none in stock.

Some people do big water changes to induce splitting. Others feed heavily with food soaked in selcon. Cutting is another option, but usually the hardest part is getting it off the rocks.
