i found one of my clam not doing well ,so i took it out and looked at it found some Pyramid Snails on it.

i'm wondering if FW dip or Idoine dip can clean those Pyramid Snails?

you might consider a natural predator to the Pyramid Snail. 6 line wrasse... That is if the wrasse can get to it in order to clean it (i.e it is not buried in the sand)

a FWD or iodine wont kill the snail any quicker then it will kill the clam. some wrasses will eat pyrams but the problem is that pyrams feed at night, wrasses sleep at night. so at best you might be able to control there numbers but you wont eradicate them.

the best thing to do is, about an hour or two after lights out remover the clam from the tank and scrub the shell with a soft tooth brush. do this 3x a week for 2 months even if you dont see and snails. then continue this once a week for another few months. after this periodically check the clam and if you find any start the processes over again.

so should i put some water in a bucket and clean it or actully ok to leave it out of water for like 10 mins ?

i just cleaned the clam that is not doing well...and darn nasty, i found MESSIVE Pyramid snails at the bottom of the clam ..at least 50+ of those thing.. at first i thought those were part of the "leg tissue"...

so anyway, there's no way to be 100% sure there's no more Pyramid snails every time you add new clam in your tank since you can only pick out the ones you see but don't know if there are some more hiding inside ?

for those ppl who have like 20+ clams, there no way to take all clams out every night just to clean those snails...and sounds like there's no short cut ?!?

no short cut. if you love your clams you gotta do it.
i didn't do mine for months, but i did almost daily for 3 weeks or so.
