How will I know that Nem is dead?

what are the symptoms Larah
I hate to ask you to post a pic --you still haven't posted the full tank shots you promised on Thursday night :)

I'm sorry.. You're right.. I will work onthat as well.. I won't be able to post a pic of the nem until tomorrow, it's lights off..

If it shrivels up and goes to a shady area it could just be splitting or whatever. But they will do that from time to time. If it stats to look rotty. Pick it up to see if it is starting to decompsoe. If so get it out .It can make a mess in the tank.

It's a new nem..I think it has been loved to death by the tomato clown... I doubt that it's splitting.......
I will get a photo as soon as I can.. OS far it's still holding onto a large rock with it's foot....barely.......

Is it a bubble(Entacmaea quadricolor).?If so ,they're pretty hardy. Give it a little time

this is what I thought too when I read your post--separate the two and the anemone will probably come back

my former clarkie killed my blue long tip anenome by hosting in it

Dang!
Well as soon as it detaches enough from the rock for me to get a grip on it I will put it in the sump...

it ain't going to happen---remove the clown for a couple of weeks and see if the anenome bounces back
from experience clowns do all right in the sump:lol:

your sig says that you have PC's. If thats the case PC's are not enough light to keep a BTA healthy.
:) Not true I have a rose bta that has split 3x under pc It is enormous and healthy and has been that way for 4 yrs.

I didn't do anything special. I don't even feed it directly. You've seen it in my tank pictures it takes up the whole top of the right side of the lps tank. I do feed the fish well and it's in a current that brings it food. It also hosts a pair of mated tomato clowns who I'm sure contribute plenty of pooh and such. I do maintain very constant salinity and good water quality.
I placed it on the bottom of the tank when I got it. It was about the size of a billiard ball It climbed to the top about 4 yrs ago and has been there ever since.I keep boxing it in to stop it from taking over the whole tank One morning it was gone,Probably behind the rock. The next morning there were three. Yes it split into three. I got one out and sold it and still have two. It's a real treat.

great a challenged anenome--how well I still like it :)

it has remained at the bottom of my tank since I first got it and never moved---and you know with anenomes that if they are not happy they will move
