How you do with the snow storm

TWO snow blowers and both crapped out on me :( Luckily, it was a nice light snow. I shoveled my house, and the little old lady next door to me. I started shoveling the old guy across the street, but then another neighbor came out with his snow blower and took over for me. My back doesn't really bother me, but my feet are frozen.

$20 for a carb rebuild kit and I think my big machine is ready to go now. I put the linkage together wrong, but that's just a brain teaser. Once I get that right, I should be fine.
It's a tough old machine, but I'm starting to think it's time to upgrade. I want one with electric start and a headlight......

Snow blower was best investment I made last year..sure saved my back

Larry I lived in Baldwin for 27years and freeport for 8 years and after moving to Merrick and I have not seen things like this before that you would get a kick out of after moving here.
Well when it snows I never seen so many day labor's from HD knocking door to door to shovel. They buzzed my doorbell at 6:30am just to be first one. We'll I almost was first one to knock one out this morning since woke up my hole house. I must of had 10 different guys ring the bell even after I blowed, lol
I never had anyone knock on my door beside maybe 1-2 kids from the block looking to make some $$
Second is in Merrick you don't have to put your garbage pails to the curb because they come to your side of house to get them and put back... I almost knocked out one sanition guy when I did not know this I saw this dude in my backyard and was like who the hell are you and why in my backyard, if it was not for jacket he was dead. That is why my neighbor said they get ****ed if you don't tip them once in while for that service...never in Baldwin

Third is I put my boat in the driveway this summer and the next day these neighbors where protesting up and down the block.. Not like freeport where everyone parks there boat in driveway

I had a good time!

Way too cold out for that, Justin! Aren't you from Arizona? How do you handle single digit temps?

I have never had the pleasure of living in an area that some might describe as "hoidy toidy", Jarrett. An unexpected "visitor" in my yard is likely to find himself looking at the business end of my home defense plan. I've been told that such a thing has caused people to soil themselves.
My street is a dead end. Most of us have snow blowers. We don't depend on a plow to clear the street, we all get out there and do it ourselves. I clear my property, then the elderly woman's next door. From there, I hit the street in front of our two houses. Before I'm done, someone has done the two houses across the street and has started on the other half of the street. It works well, unless my machine breaks down :(
I didn't get to clear the street yesterday, and I was on my own shoveling the two properties, but the street is clear, thanks to my neighbors. I'm sure that someone would have saved me from shoveling if I waited (I start early because I usually have to make an appearance at work to get paid) for them all to come out.

I grew up here so I'm somewhat used to it. Also I was so layered up with thermals and snow gear that I was hot most of the time.

As far as shoveling, I was covered. I have a very long and steep driveway that leads to a main road. Luckily my neighbor has a plow and sand spreaded so he always hooks us up. The only shoveling I did was a path for the dogs to go out.

It's good to have friends in high places!

I have already started shopping for a replacement snow blower.
